The ASA South East Region inherits a strong base of World Class coaches and competitors.
The immediate priorities of the Diving Management Group will include the implementation of Swim 21 (Diving) and Long Term Athlete Development within the Region and ensuring that competition at Regional and Sub-Regional level fits into the ASA National Competition Framework.
Sub-regional events will be used to encourage young people to take-up diving and life-long participation.
The ASA has appointed Frank Clewlow as South East Regional Diving Manager. Frank is known to us as a Diving Official, Coach and Tutor.
OLYMPIC SQUAD TAKES FORM
A ten-strong diving squad has been selected as part of Team GB and will now focus their attentions on success in Beijing after some excellent performances on the last day of the Diving Trials in Leeds.
Three divers from the Southampton Diving Academy have been selected for the following events:
- Individual Women's Platform (10 m) - Stacie Powell
- individual Men's Platform (10) -Peter Waterfield
- Synchronised Men's Platform (10m) - Blake Aldridge

Develop with divers from your own club, for a cost of just £5 per coach and £2.50 per diver! Lunch will be included for coaches, however divers are asked to bring a packed lunch with them - a chaperone will be available for divers out of training times.

Waterfield Secures Olympic Spot

Southampton Diver Peter Waterfield has secured his place at the summer's Olympic Games in Bejing by finishing eighth in the 10m Platform at the FINA World Cup.

Diving coach Charly Tomkys has been recognised at the 2007 Sports Coach UK Coaching Awards which recognised coaching excellence. She will now be invited to the national ceremony where they will be presented with this awards by HRH The Princess Royal.

Southampton Divers Claim Medals at German Clash

Eight divers from Southampton Diving were part of a squad of Britain's top divers who went head to head with Germany's elite at the inaugural KlingerCook Trophy in Sheffield as both nations prepare for the 2008 Bejing Olympics.
